11 Best Food Places in Nice, France

Tagging on from our previous 3 day itinerary in Nice, France, this is all about the best food places to try in Nice, France. We stayed closer to the promenade so most of the food places we tried were around this area. The options are endless with pizza, pasta, crepes, coffee, gelato and even brunch!

1. Le Pleogoir
This restaurant is the iconic spot I’m sure you’ve seen when Nice, France is brought up. Sitting on the water, it’s a beautiful restaurant with breathtaking views. Their risotto was one of the best I’ve had and they did have an area for children however, strollers are not allowed inside due to the limited seating. Reservations are a must so be sure to schedule it online before heading to try this place out.

2. La Pizza Cresci
Not too far from our hotel, this restaurant has lots of seating outside and is the perfect location for people-watching while enjoying some pizza. The Neopolitan and the classic Margherita were our favorites and you can order them as half pizzas for one or whole pizzas for two.

3. La Villa D’Este
This was a place we found walking around and wasn’t on our list but was very busy which is always a good sign. Their pasta was what we tried and it was a huge portion for two people which is not common for dishes in France and Europe in general so highly recommend this place if you’re going with a large group. Their outdoor seating was beautiful and their interior just as nice but gets full fairly quickly.

4. Taverne Massena
In a very popular location, this place had one of the best pizzas we tried in Nice. Although it can get a bit crowded during dinner, the outdoor seating here (as well as all the other places) was our favorite to enjoy the weather and gave us enough room to place the stroller for our son.

5. Amorino Gelato
I’m personally not a gelato or ice cream fan but my husband loved this place and tried a new flavor every day and loved it. It was catered more towards tourists but the flavors were good and it was at a prime location so a good option.

6. Le Magenta
This restaurant was located in an area where tourists are the most likely to walk around to try and find a place to eat. We couldn’t decide on a place but liked the menu selection and the welcoming hostess and were not disappointed. They had a wide range of food options and a kids menu but my favorite was the Ravioli and I still think about it to this day.

7. Edmond Cafe
The absolute best brunch we had in Nice. Wide menu selection, the indoor seating was beautiful and my favorite was our waitress who recommended the best options for us. This had more American options for brunch but we didn’t mind it since it was a nice change from the usual things we were eating. The eggs benedict were perfect and the cappuccino a top favorite.

8. Bocca Nissa
Highly highly rated, this place can easily be missed as it’s in a small pathway between two shops in the busy center. Reservations aren’t required but recommended as the line can get fairly long and limited seating indoor and out but food is 10000000% worth it. This is not the most kid friendly but perfect for a date night.

9. Caffe Vergnano
More Italian coffee selections but great selections for traditional lattes as well!

10. La Maison De Celine Pâtisserie
A cute coffee shop with simple options for lattes but the highlight here are the pastries and of course you can’t go to France without trying a croissant.

11. Ballanger Confiserie Creperie
Besides croissants, you can’t go to France and not try a crepe! This was again more in a touristy area but the crepes and waffles were large with lots of options for toppings. The wait times are a bit longer but it was worth it and the perfect little treat to end the night after a long day of walking.
